The music department at Minot State is
uncomparable to any other school. One on one time with the faculty is
really prominent, especially if you’re taking private lessons.
Then you meet with faculty weekly. And it’s not only progress musically,
but they’re also your academic advisors. So the faculty care about you as a well
rounded person more than just a music student. Ann Nicole Nelson Hall is one of the best
concert halls that I’ve ever performed in. The acoustics are just unlike any other, and it’s also beautiful. Minot State music department faculty really
care about not only your growth as musicians, but also as a person. They care about your mental wellbeing
above all. They’ll take you aside if you seem
like you’re having a bad day. and they’ll ask you what’s up and
how they can help in any way. The relationships that I’ve made here a Minot State
through the music department are fantastic. We have this club called NAfME and
that’s where I have most of my friends. We meet every other week and that’s a blast, it’s really good.
