. G3 | Southern Cross confirmed at 3rd Gathering in Chile
Southern Cross has confirmed its participation in the 2007 pipe band gathering in Santiago de Chile. The event will be held in April 27, 28 and 29.

The St Andrew's Society of Uruguay held its traditional St.Andrew's Day Dinner at the Regency Suites Hotel in Carrasco on December 1st.
 
     
. Ruth Sutherland | CD Release Concert
Ruth Sutherland released her new CD titled Bones & Runes on September 25th. Starring at the release concert were Doug Feaver (farmonica and guitar) and Stephen Fuller (fiddle).
 
     
. 7th SCPB Festival - "Myths & Legends"
Our 7th piping, drumming and dancing Festival was a blast! Two nights of "Myths & Legends" that delighted the audience on November 9 and 10 at Teatro La Mennais.

Our friends of Highland Thistle Pipe Band in Buenos Aires presented their first concert format show: "LIVE! A Scottish extravaganza"
 
     
. Macció Theatre - Saturday October 7th
In a joint intiative between the Intendencia Municipal de San Jose and our SCPB, we achieved one of our targets for 2006 last Saturday 7 October. It was the Band's first concert format performance in the interior of Uruguay.
 
     
. Caledonian Night 2006 - Radisson VP
This year's Caledonian Night was held on September 30 at the Radisson VP Ballroom and was organized by The St. Andrew's Society of Uruguay and our SCPB.

. World Pipe Band Championship 2006
Our Southern Cross Pipe was present at this year´s World Pipe Band Championship, this time represented by our pipers Leandro Bonilla and Andrew McConnell.
 
     
. Junior Caledonian 2006
The Junior Caledonian was held on August 12 organized by the St. Andrew's Society of Uruguay. More than 300 kids with ages ranging from 6 to 15 years enjoyed this traditional and annual gathering.

 
     
. June 6, London
On June 6 John Phillip Davies and Lucia Cardellino got married in London. All the very best to the newly weds!

. Visits & Workshops
On May 17 the band welcomed Scottish Grade 1 piper John Warren (Duns, Scotland) and former Polkemmet Pipe Band member. During his 2 week stay we enjoyed an intensive piping workshop. [images]

 
     
. Grade 1 Ambassador
Andrew McConnell, our ambassador in New Zealand, joined the famous Grade 1 Auckland 7 District Pipe Band. Congratulations Maco!

. SAPA´s Ceilidh
Our S.A.P.A. friends held their traditional SAPA Ceilidh on Saturday 27 May, at Temperley.
 
     
. St. Andrew´s Society of Uruguay - Family Day Picnic
The St. Andrew's Society of Uruguay held its traditional Family Picnic on Sunday 26th March at the Montevideo Cricket Club . Perfect weather and a teatime performance by our Southern Cross Pipe Band were the highlights of a very enjoyable Sunday afternoon.
 
     
. St. Patrick´s Night
Our dance corps presented an elaborate set of Irish dances to a very warm audience at the Montevideo Players Society's St. Patrick's Night celebration on March 24th. It was a very enjoyable evening that helped contribute to the Players' efforts for the year.
 
     
. Centro Gallego de Montevideo´s "Romería"
Once again we had a great time with our friends of the Centro Gallego. In the their yearly traditional Romeria, on S unday 19th March, at the Polideportivo de Carrasco, the Southern Cross Pipe Band enjoyed a very warm afternoon performing to a large audience of more than 2000 people. Our sincere thanks for the invitation!
 
     
. New Zealand Ambassador
Andrew McConnell has added his name to our representatives network abroad. He will be living and working in the city of Auckland (New Zealand). Our best wishes in this new venture and "See you soon, Maco!"
